The meteor gear is quite good as well and has unique effects. Not tough to make but you will need to find a meteor first. Backpacks are great for adventuring too, but knapsacks don't take up even 1 slot of inventory space.Ī meteor shield should be a priority once you have established a real base. Make a knapsack asap, it's cheap in materials and you can equip it in the armor tab to gain an extra inventory. You can cook zombie flesh to make leather! Leather is super useful in Hexxit. But you can make arrows with their feathers which is cool. I just have them because I like them, but sprinting with cloud boots makes you about as mobile. You will need to start a gysahl farm if you want to breed them. you can make special bookshelves that increase the table's max enchant level, but you will need to start saving up a whole lot of books if you want to do this.Ĭhocobos are pretty cool but take a lot of effort to make them useful. Some of the new enchants take up a ton of levels though. One cool new enchant is Soul Tether which keeps the item with you if you die. Plus, you can use a table to repair any enchanted item without using many levels. I just found out about this last night and it would have helped so much if I had known about it earlier.Īn enchanting table is still good to get quickly because there are a lot of new useful enchants.

Usually not max enchant level, but you can get Sharpness 3, Protection 3, and Unbreaking 2 on everything for free at least, and most of the other enchants as well. For some cheap materials like iron or string you can make items that grant free enchantments to your gear. Look at the Artifice mod included with Hexxit, it's really awesome. Some other good things to aim for are also the Hookshot/Longshot and later the Electric Staff. Make Cloud Boots asap, they are fun as hell and you will never want to take them off. Legia Bow is the strongest ranged weapon I've found and only needs iron and bows. The best weapon you are going to get for a long time is a Diamond Giant Sword which not only does the most damage but also blocks all incoming damage on right click. TC isn't that great for weapons though without a lot of preparation so don't worry about its assortment of swords for now. Later on, you can get materials that are better than diamond. I really love my auto-repairing steel pickaxe and mattock. You can't use diamond with TC, but by cooking iron in a furnace you make steel which is just about as good. TC tools never completely break and you can give them an auto-repair property pretty easily to make them last forever, among other properties (mostly similar to enchants but powered by items instead of levels). And once you have everything set up, you can make decent tools. In the early game the best thing about Tinker's Construct is the smeltery which doubles your ore output. The initial setup is the most confusing but once you have it set up its pretty simple and doesn't require any extra maintenance.

It has many benefits and is actually not that complicated compared to other crafting mods I've tried to use. Though it seems daunting, once you get a base set up, read that book you spawned with and try to get started on the Tinker's Construct stuff. The kind of thing I wish I knew about at first. Been playing Hexxit for a couple weeks and thought of some info that might be of use to new players.
