In order to manage crowding, spectators are discouraged at the race, particularly at the start and finish.If you test positive for COVID-19 within the fourteen days following the event, you must email so that we may notify staff and participants as necessary.You may not attend the event if you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive in the fourteen (14) days prior to the event.We encourage all athletes to get vaccinated unless they have a valid reason not to. At this time, there is no vaccination requirement for this race.Prior to the race you will receive more information if changes or additions are necessary. Your entry to the NYCRUNS Haunted Island 5K and 10K includes a ferry ride, your race-entry, a snazzy tech t-shirt, and post-race eats. Military executions, accidents, tragedies, and more - buried safely in mass graves and abandoned cemeteries. What nobody tells you about though is the terrifying history of the place. Governors Island was completely off limits to normal New Yorkers for 200 years and now it's a wonderful destination with the best views of lower Manhattan, the Brooklyn coastline, and the New York Harbor. Normally, we love Governors Island, but I have a bad feeling about this.
